I love advents. This advent is extra special to me. I created the idea a few years ago for my church's preschool, and we have used it for many years since. I like the fact that it is a craft the kids can make. I like the idea of family interaction when it comes to the advent. Each night of December, remove a link from the chain. It will include a Bible verse that you read together as a family. You can hang the chain on your tree or pretty much anywhere in your house. Trust me, if the kids make the chain, they will not forget to remind you each night to read the verses. We usually do ours before dinner each night. I truly hope you enjoy this simple but so effective advent craft.
Print out each page, one on red paper, the other on green paper. The order of the verses does not matter, they are all relevant to Christmas. Cut along the dotted lines. Have your children construct the chain by linking the pieces in loops and stapling them shut. Parents may need to help with the stapling for young children.
