panorama of the theater
Sight & Sound Theatres is the largest faith-based live theatre in the country and has been described as "Christian Broadway." There are two locations, Branson, Mo and Lancaster, Pa.
Our first experience with Sight & Sound was the production of Joseph. We were visiting Branson and we kept passing the billboards for the show. Our daughters asked to go. We didn’t know anything about the theater but honored their request.
my girls excited to see the show!
Our recent visit to Branson was at the request of our daughters again, specifically to visit the Sight & Sound Theater. This year we saw Moses.
Sight & Sound productions are so rich incorporating so much of the theater using the sides, isles and of course the stage. They use animals and children in their productions adding to the realistic portrayal. The Moses production incorporated donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, and camels.
Christmas tree in the rotunda
Our visit in November was during the holiday season and the theater was all decked out to celebrate Christmas. The theater is located on top of a hill, just driving up to the building is special. Once you arrive, the scale of the venue and the decor is majestic.
The lobby is grand, offers snacks that can be brought into the theater as well as a gift shop on either side of the building. The gift shop offers many items that relate to the current production. One of our favorite purchases from our first visit were a few DVDs of other productions.
I can not recommend their performances enough and I am sure we will be planning another trip to see a different production soon. If you have seen a Sight & Sound production, I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know which one it was.
