Cricut Machine Tool Organizer

I am really excited to share the new Machine Tool Organizer from Cricut. It sells for $29.99.

Any supplies used may be given to me free of charge, however, all projects and opinions are my own.

A lot of engineering and design went into this simple looking product. It is functional while very elegant looking. The Tool Organizer fits 10 housing. The bottom twists off to store additional tips. Prior to using the Machine Tool Organizer, I kept all my tools in a plastic pencil box. It stored nicely but I had to rummage through it to find what I needed. The Tool Organizer from Cricut allows me to see the tool before I open it and access which one I need. You can buy your own on cricut.com and at major retailers.

How to Etch a Glass Decanter with EtchAll

The minute I saw this decanter advertised on the Dollar Tree website, I knew I had to have it. I wanted to etch it with etchall. I love the iridescent quality of the glass. I had a hard time deciding which color decanter to get but ultimately decided upon the purple version. I originally envisioned etching all four sides of the glass, but I ran into a bit of an issue I will explain in detail below.

This post and photos may contain Amazon or other affiliate links. If you purchase something through any link, I may receive a small commission at no extra charge to you. Any supplies used may be given to me free of charge, however, all projects and opinions are my own.

Materials:

  • glass decanter
  • etchall creme
  • paintbrush
  • cardstock scrap
  • vinyl
  • free SVG file
  • personal cutting machine (Cricut Maker)
  • craft knife
  • rubbing alcohol
  • paper towels

Directions:

Download the free SVG file. [stencil]

Cut the stencil design from vinyl.

Weed away the area that will etch.

Here is where I ran into a bit of trouble. The first time I etched the decanter it removed the purple iridescent layer.
So I used a craft knife to scratch off all the purple from one side of the decanter.

Clean the glass with rubbing alcohol and then adhere the stencil to the glass.

Cover the stencil with etchall etching creme, be generous.

After 15 minutes has passed, remove the excess creme and return it to the container.
I used a scrap of cardstock to remove the creme.
etchall creme is reusable.

Here is a close-up of the final result.
I am happy I resolved my issue and it turned out well!

Three Quick and Easy Things to Make with the Cricut Joy

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut for Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was so excited to open the Cricut Joy. I have the Cricut Maker and I have used other Cricut machines as well. I like the ability to cut long pieces of continuous material but I am most excited about the Card Mat and Insert Cards. I also like the portability of the Cricut Joy. While the Cricut Joy is small, it is a mighty machine capable of cutting vinyl, a variety of papers, and cardstock as well as draw with pens.

This post and photos contain affiliate links. If you purchase something through any link, I will receive a small commission at no extra charge to you.
Any supplies used may be given to me free of charge, however, all projects and opinions are my own.

First I want to share with you the unboxing of the Cricut Joy.

The following three projects were quick and easy to make with the Cricut Joy. Each project uses different materials with the Cricut Joy. I was able to test
out the flexibility and range of materials. The first project I made with the Cricut Joy was an insert card.

I made the above birthday card for my husband's birthday. I needed something to give him and since we are sheltering at home, I wasn't able to go out and get him anything, so I made him a card. I used the Cricut Insert Card design and was able to make a quick and easy card. You can see the entire tutorial at the following link. [Birthday Card]

The second project I made with the Cricut Joy used Smart Iron-on. I made a cat shirt for my daughter. We recently adopted two kittens, and I thought what an appropriate shirt! I altered an image from Design Space and quickly made this shirt. I didn't even need to use a mat. I just loaded the smart iron-on vinyl directly into the Joy. This would be a really easy way to make a last-minute gift. See the entire tutorial at the following link. [Cat Shirt]

The third project I made with the Cricut Joy utilized its ability to draw. The Cricut Joy comes with a black pen which I used. I also received Smart Label materials so I decided to make labels for a craft tower I had. I still have more labels to make because I haven't settled on all the drawers' contents but it will be easy to do that because I saved the file I made in Design Space. The program walked me through the steps of loading the pen for drawing and then the blade for cutting. Using Smart Label materials I didn't need to cut it down to size or use a mat. I just loaded the materials into the Cricut Joy and hit go! You can see the entire tutorial and access the label file I created here: [Labels]

I can't wait to use the continuous cut with vinyl and make a growth chart for my girls. Right now we have the marks on a wall next to our kitchen. I would like to make the charts so they can take them with them when they get older and move on. I have the wood on order but it hasn't arrived in time for this post. So be sure to look for that tutorial in the future.

Have You Wondered About the Comfy?

This wearable blanket pullover keeps you warm & cozy while you lounge at home, watch TV, play video games, work on your laptop, camp, attend a sporting event or concert, & more! Right now, spending time at home a little extra comfort can really be helpful. My daughters love the Comfy for watching TV. It is like a little soft cacoon. And when you are cold, it is really helpful.

This is how the Comfy package arrived at our house. I want to thank Comfy for sending me one to review and fall in love with! We received the navy original Comfy but it is also available in a lite version that is made out of microfiber fabric without the white fluffy sherpa.

The Comfy is known for being on Shark Tank.

You can buy yours here: [Comfy]
