Tonight my family and I attended a screening of Solo :: A Star Wars Story. Our overall first impressions were that it wasn't a bad movie, obviously not one of the best in the Star Wars saga. It did fill in a few gaps in the backstory. There were a few surprises to keep viewers interested. The cinematography and animation were well done although dark in places and hard to see details when you might want too. The acting was believable and not lacking. Fans of Star Wars will want to see Solo. Die-hard Star Wars fans might pick the movie apart but I am not knowledgeable enough to know for sure.
From Disney:
"Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story,' an adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes."
