I don't remember learning how to crochet but I know I have been crocheting since I was a young girl. I am left-handed so I had to teach myself different stitches. I requested the Thread Christmas Ornaments book from Leisure Arts because I love Santa Claus and I was drawn to those little rolly polly Santas on the left image.

Upon receiving the book, I thumbed through to view all the different patterns. I haven't started on the Santa yet because I didn't have the correct thread handy but there was a pattern for a stocking that I followed. I used a different hook and different yarn from what the pattern indicated and turned out well. The pattern was very easy to follow along and in no time I had a little stocking made.

Look how cute this little stocking is, it would make a great ornament or wrap for a small gift.
