Do you remember making gum wrapper chains when you were little? I had friends who would work on their chains and compare them to each other. What a competition they would have! All grown up now, you can take that technique and make jewelry! Yes, I said jewelry. The materials are minimal. If you prepare your paper ahead of time, you can take this craft with you in a sandwich bag for crafting on the go.
Materials:
- scrapbooking paper
- packing tape
- scissors (paper cutter)
- ruler
- pencil
Instructions:
Choose your scrapbooking paper palette to work with. I used four papers that complimented each other but you can use whatever you like or as many as you like.
Cover the paper with packing tape. Don't worry about it touching or overlapping. Just work in pieces of tape you feel you can manage. This will protect the paper and prolong your ability to wear it.
Cut the paper into strips that are 1" x 5"
How to fold:
The packing tape will make the paper sturdier while making it a bit more difficult to fold. Just stick with it.
This free PDF file will show the details of how to fold your paper pieces. [free PDF instructions]
Once you have three folded and joined, it will hold together.
