How much water should you drink in a day?

You've probably heard the adage drink 8 - 8 oz glasses of water a day. It's a popular saying and easy to remember, but not necessarily true. The Institute of Medicine has determined that all liquids count. Your coffee in the morning, a can of soda, basically anything liquid you consume in a day counts towards your daily total. It is also true that you will drink more if it is a flavor you like. So, no longer do you need to force yourself to drink up glasses and glasses of water if you don't like it. Instead of 64 oz of water in a day, a woman needs 72 oz of liquid and a man needs 104 oz of liquid. Remember all liquids count towards your total daily intake. This standard is for a median climate and should be adjusted for extreme physical activities as well as variations in temperatures.
