Game Day Dog Recipe

This is a great recipe for game day. You know a football-watching snack. And it is even football shaped! Well, that wasn't intended really. I wanted to wrap it with a crescent roll but we were out. So I used a biscuit instead and ended up with a great flavor pairing shaped like a football.

I remember eating these at summer camp, minus the biscuit. We baked them over the fire, so that would work as well.

Ingredients:

  • Refrigerator biscuits (or crescent rolls)
  • Cheese
  • Partially cooked bacon (we buy it this way at Sam's club)
  • Hot dogs

Directions:

Slice the cheese into 1" wide strips. Slice almost through the hot dog and fill the slot with the cheese. Wrap the bacon around the outside of the hot dog and then wrap the biscuit or crescent roll around that holding the bacon in place. If you don't use the biscuit, you will need to use toothpicks to hold the bacon in place. Follow the baking directions on the package of biscuits.
