This Christmas season I am participating in a Dollar Store Christmas Craft Challenge. I chose to make a Snow Globe. I found the Snow Globe at my Dollar Tree a few months ago and grabbed it. I have a love of Santa so I knew that was the image going inside. Finding the Santa took a bit more time but I finally located one at the Dollar Tree. I would have liked to add a few bristle Christmas Trees behind the Santa but I was not able to find them. Items sure do sell out quickly at the Dollar Tree!

Materials

Materials:

Snow globe
Santa figure
Super Glue
Sparkle Red Ribbon
Silver glitter
Snow shaped sequins
Water
Blue food coloring

Directions:

Begin by taking the Snow Globe apart, there are directions inside if needed.

I used Super Glue to attach the Santa to the base of the Snow Globe.

While the glue dried, I put glitter and snowflake sequins into the globe.

Then filling the globe with water, I thought blue food coloring would look nice.
It was too dark so I had to pull the globe apart and drain out the water saving the glitter and snowflakes.
I added more water then placed the "plug" with the Santa into place.

To finish it off, I tied a glittery red ribbon around the base of the globe.

This project was very easy to make. The glue drying was the only step that took a bit of time. And of course my error with the blue food coloring! The glitter seems to flow nicely while the sequins like to clump together more. I actually purchased the snowflake sequins for another project expecting them to be 1" across but they were teeny tiny. So, instead of returning them to Amazon, I used them for this project. The snowflakes are the only item that didn't come from the Dollar Tree.
