SodaStream Review

I was so thrilled to be able to review the SodaStream SOURCE machine (pictured above). And, I was scared. Scared there would be a learning curve, scared that I might do something wrong. Scared that it was going to be hard to operate. Scared that it would take some time to get a good result. I am happy to say I was wrong on all accounts.

My daughter and I opened the box, removed everything and I sat down to read the instructions. Because you know I thought it was going to be difficult and take time. I rinsed out the container and we made our first bottle of soda in less than five minutes. It was a lot less time then that, I just don’t remember exactly. What took the most time was deciding on what flavor we wanted to try first.

We made diet lemon lime and we all tried it. I only made it with medium carbonation and probably would use full carbonation next time. You can choose from three different settings for carbonation. It was good and tonight the girls asked for more. They want to try pink lemon aid next.

I can see how it will save so much space around the house in that we will not have to store cases of different soda. And what a great green product. No more cans to crush and recycle, no cardboard to break down and recycle. I haven’t calculated out the price difference but I wouldn’t be surprised to find that we will be saving money too.

One thing I think I will do is buy a bottle for every person in the family so that we will have our own flavors and be responsible for ourselves.

I forgot to mention, no electricity needed. You can use it anywhere. Just take the machine with you - on vacation, camping, RVing... Flavors and CO2 can be found at most major grocery stores as well as Walmart, Target and K-mart type stores.
