4 Essential Additions To Your Crafting Supplies

If you’re a keen craft enthusiast, you’ve probably got a cupboard filled with all sorts of supplies that you’ve picked up over the years. But do you have all of the essentials that you need in there? It takes a bit of natural ability and a whole lot of practice to get good at crafting, but it’s equally important that you’ve got the right equipment. If you want to take your crafting to the next level, these are some of the essential pieces of equipment that you need to invest in.

Storage Bins

Before we get into the specifics, it’s important to talk about storage. If you’ve got a big box in the cupboard with all of your craft supplies shoved in there, you’re doing it wrong. If some glue leaks out or you’ve got things with glitter or sequins in there, you’re going to have a big mess on your hands and loads of your crafting materials are going to get ruined. If you want to create good quality crafts, you need to look after your equipment and materials properly. So, get yourself some storage bins or a small set of plastic drawers so you can keep everything separate and organized properly. It’ll make your life so much easier and you won’t accidentally ruin anything.

Glue Guns

Each crafting project requires a different type of glue, so it’s important that you’ve got a wide range. You’ll need PVA for anything wooden or paper based, but that won’t do for glass, for example, so you’ll need something stronger. One thing that you always need to have is a glue gun. It’s a great, versatile piece of crafting equipment which usually comes in handy when nothing else will work. There are so many great crafting projects that you can do with a glue gun so you should definitely invest in one.

Vinyl Cutter

Working with vinyl can be a bit frustrating and it takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you do, you can create some amazing designs that will go on wood, glass or even t-shirts. But you’re going to make life a lot harder for yourself if you’re trying to cut the designs out by hand and you won’t get a professional finish. Instead, you should look for a vinyl cutter to do the hard work for you. Check out for more information on choosing the right one. The cheaper ones will just cut sheets but they won’t be able to cut out a design that you’ve drawn so it’s best to spend a bit more on one that will.

Scrap Fabric

When you finish a project and you’ve got a little bit of fabric left over, don’t throw it away. Instead, you should keep it all in a scrap fabric bin. That saves you from going out and spending more money every time you need a small piece of fabric and you never know when that stuff is going to come in handy. Visit for a great list of things you can do with it if the bin starts to overflow.

Once you add these essentials to your crafting kit, you’ll open up a whole load of new options for yourself.
