This is a VERY versatile recipe – use what you have on hand or what you like.
Ingredients:
- hot dogs
- frozen hash browns
- cream of chicken soup
- milk
- butter
- shredded cheese
Directions:
When I cook, I don’t use exact measurements. With that said, you can easily alter what I have written here by adding more or less of something as you desire.
Cut the hot dogs in half, lengthwise and then slice them into bite sized pieces. Place them in the bottom of a rectangular casserole dish (I used a glass one). On top of this, place the entire package of frozen hash browns. (no need to thaw).
In a bowl, mix the can of cream of chicken soup (or any creamed soup) and then fill the can with milk and add that to the brown. Mix together and pour it over the hash browns.
Melt about 3-4 tablespoons of butter in the microwave and then pour that over the casserole.
Place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. For the last 10 minutes, add about a cup of shredded cheese to the top (I used a Mexican blend).
Enjoy
Suggested alterations:
Replace the meat with summer sausage, ground hamburger, rotisserie chicken
Change the kind of creamed soup for a different flavor (mushroom, potato, cheddar cheese)
Change the kind of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar)
