Homemade Silly Putty :: Fail!

I thought it would be a fun idea to make silly putty with the kiddos one afternoon when they got board on vacation at grandmother's house.

The recipe wasn't difficult, 2 parts glue to 1 part liquid starch. Finding the ingredients proved to be a bit more difficult, especially the liquid starch. The recipe called for white glue. We used a blue glitter glue thinking it would be more creative but this line of thinking might have been our down-falling.

So, unfortunately we experienced a Pinterest fail! The kids were excited to try it. They had fun in the process. When it failed, they quickly moved on doing to something else.  In some ways, I can see where it started to make silly putty. We got pretty blue glittery lumps but they didn't stick together. It smelled good, it was fun to squish but that was about it.
