Captive is a portrayal of difficult realities in our world. This movie is based on a true story of an escaped convict and a drug user. Captive shows how two damaged lives come together and experience God's grace to save them each in their own way.
The overall message is of faith, redemption, and forgiveness. The harsh realities of drugs, rape, and murder presented in the film may not be appropriate for children of 13 years old as the PG-13 rating would suggest. I would highly recommend reviewing the movie before allowing your child to see it.
