Are These Common Beauty Mistakes Holding You Back?

It’s not always easy to look our glittering best. We have money to earn, friends and family to spend time with, and homes to keep in order: with all that going on, how do we find the time to get ourselves looking fabulous? When time is short, many of us make a few mistakes that actually have a big difference as to how we look and feel about ourselves. Below, we take a look some of the most common beauty mistakes. Make the changes, which are usually simple to do, and you’ll be looking your best in no time at all.

Not Dressing For Your Shape

We know that it’s not always possible to buy clothes that fit you perfectly. For many things, the range of options is pretty limited, and you just have to settle for the size that’s on the rack. However, even if you can’t get tailor-made quality fittings, you can still dress to your shape. It’s all about finding the right cut, and the right fabrics. If you don’t have the first clue about what this entails, take a look at how to dress for your shape. You might just find that you need to throw away some of your older clothes; the perfect excuse to hit the shops!

Unsure of Products

There’s no shortage of beauty products that’ll help people look a little better and feel more confident. But in some cases, the problem is that there’s too much choice! When it comes to your beauty products, you kind of need to block out the noise and focus on the items that’ll be good for you. Not all makeup products, for example, will be right for you. Also, it’s worth looking at the premium products for certain things, such as your hair. Bumble and Bumble products are of professional quality, and, if you use them, you’ll notice the difference between them and your usual hair products. For things like moisturizers, it’s a case of trying a few and seeing which one suits your skin the best.

Not Developing a Makeup Routine

Time is important, and especially so in the mornings. If you’re running against the clock, you likely don’t want to spend more time than necessary putting on makeup and generally making sure look presentable. That’s why it can be beneficial to develop a simple, time-efficient makeup routine. If you do, then you’ll always be just a few minutes away from looking at your brilliant best. Plus, in developing the routine, you’ll be finding your go-to, signature style.

Trying to Tan Too Quickly

After a long winter filled with chilly temperatures and snow, it’s always tempting to get out into the sunshine and make that pale skin disappear as soon as possible. But remember: if you’re trying to tan too quickly, then you might just find that you’re doing more harm than good. You need to slowly build up to tanning, not just lie in the sunshine at first sight of hot temperatures. You’ll avoid being burned, which is key for developing a long-term tan, and you’ll also be protecting your skin from sun damage.

Too Quick for Bargains

Everyone should do their best to get the best deal possible when it comes to buying clothes and accessories, but there is such a thing as being too dependent on cheap goods. If something once had a high price tag and is now on sale, then sure, go ahead and buy it: that’s a good deal! However, if something is just bargain basement cheap to begin with, it’s worth spending a little bit more if you can afford to. Cheap clothes are inexpensive for a reason - they’re cheaply made, and in nearly all cases it shows. In any case, buying a $70 pair of shoes is much better than spending, say, $35; you’re buying twice the price, but they’ll last much more than twice as long.

Too Attached

We all have those items that we simply love, but there’ll come a time when it’s time to retire them from public life. A comfortable sweater will always have its special place in your life, but when it’s looking a little worse for wear, reserve it for those chilly fall days. It happens with bags and accessories too; no matter how much you might like them, they’ll have to go sometimes - nothing lasts forever!

Finding the keys to looking our best isn’t always easy, but by avoiding the mistakes, we can put ourselves in a good position to succeed!
